That figures
Fit Like?
Many changes here in Toy Town™ and the pic is a wee clue.
I will get back to blogging proper soonest, but this article requires immediate comment.
Far be it from me to suggest the disingenuous scaremongering that the Tories might have engendered by suggesting crime was rife under our present leadership, but isn't that a wee bit more worrying than to have the audacity to suggest statisticians might have their wondrous figures questioned, and I quote.......
"I must take issue with what you (Shadow home secretary Chris Grayling) said yesterday about violent crime statistics, which seems to me likely to damage public trust in official statistics." - Sir Michael Scholar's letter to the Conservatives.
Get real!

Gosh, I hope you are not suggesting that the holy grail of statistics might be being massaged somewhere along the line, surely not?
ReplyDeleteGot any of those nice new scanners yet!
The bureaucrat dork complaining the Tories were mis-using statistics was himself misleading. All polls on public trust on statistics show we don't trust them. Which means he has already failed in his job and compounded this by not noting it publicly as he swung his hand-bag.
ReplyDeleteIf the British Crime Survey was any good, it would be catching the cuffing, nodding, stitching and other gaming going on. It don't. Has Noddy sold it to the Trolls? I can never find enough of it for fair analysis.
Sadly all beyond me!
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is why things are getting worse.
